Job Title: Procurement Coordinator
Location: Cleveland, OH
Grade:  17
Reports to: Plant Manager
Job Level: Intermediate level (non-supervisory); non-exempt
 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Duties
Support strategic business plans around purchasing processes and activities designed to enhance GLBC’s total business profitability while streamlining operations throughout the supply chain

 

  • Develop strong working relationships with all current and new GLBC suppliers, creating win-win partnerships that include clearly established expectations supporting GLBC operational requirements
  • Drive establishment of and adherence to policies and procedures supporting responsible purchasing policies and DNA Pillars
  • Refine purchasing / purchase order process leveraging use of existing systems & tools while identifying & developing new tools to improve purchasing process flow & control
  • Regularly review levels or re-order points to ensure inventory costs are optimized against raw material risks
  • Develop and provide training to internal personnel on purchasing process and procedures
  • Generate, open, manage, track, and closeout purchase orders on all purchases for raw materials within the supply chain.
  • Lead development of new processes and procedures to improve raw material inventory operations
  • Maintain and support contract negotiations for all key materials, including but not limited to grain, hops, bottles, secondary packaging materials, etc.
  • Conduct regular audits, cycle counts, and rotations of inventoried at current and future 3PL warehouse(s)
  • Establish and regularly update minimum order and par level requirements for products to reflect current market and supplier conditions and ensure cost effectiveness across all customers
  • Evaluate existing suppliers for effectiveness and efficiency, establish metrics and criteria to recommend potential changes or development of supplier relationships
  • Support 3rd party vendor, fulfillment, and warehouse contracts/MOUs and future opportunities to maximize efficiencies
  • Continually evaluate processes and systems to identify systematic improvement opportunities, minimize manual processes, and drive development and implementation of these improvements
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Operations or Supply Chain

Work Experience
Minimum of three years related business experience, manufacturing operations highly preferred

Required Qualifications   

•        Results oriented with ability to identify and deliver data based solutions

•        Proven ability to manage customer relationships, develop business plans, focus on goals objectives, and deliver results

•        Ability to effectively operate in a team environment

•        Ability to manage multiple tasks while being a self-starter

•        Proven ability to create and implement policies/programs and influence change

•        Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills

•        Strong math and organizational skills

•        Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail

•        Strong knowledge of inventory management databases and Microsoft Office software

•        Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

•        Some travel required as needed

 

Preferred Qualifications
•    CPM / CPP / CPSM training
•    Three years related work experience in supply chain, purchasing and / or procurement activities
•    Understands Lean principles  with a focus on processes
•    Strong knowledge of the craft beer industry
•    Manufacturing operations experience

 

Licensure/Certification
•    Professional certifications in inventory control, supply chain purchasing or similar from organizations such as APICS beneficial
•    Completion and certification as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), CPP (Certified Purchasing Professional), or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) desired
